It is composed of silicon dioxide and like other Jaspers tends to be more colorful, more opaque and massive, lacking patterns. It is brick red in color with faint black markings.Red Jasper has been used as a stone of protection for thousands of years. It is thought to bring emotional balance and soothe heart-aches.
